Yuxuan Liu — Senior Software Engineer · Test Automation
Hello World!
I'm Yuxuan Liu
Senior Software Engineer · Test Automation @ Spokeo
Extensive hands-on experience in software design, development, optimization, and testing. Previously at Amazon, SiriusXM, and more.
Just Call Me Yuxuan

Computers are my biggest passion and have accompanied me throughout my life. I still remember my first computer, a giant IBM PC that my father bought when I was five.
Like many teenagers, I primarily used the PC to play video games. But in the process, I was fascinated by what a computer could do. Therefore, in middle school, I began attempting to learn some basic coding in Java.
As I entered college, I began considering coding and software engineering as my future career and started participating in multiple internships. After graduation, I went to Amazon as a full-time software engineer. In 2022, artificial intelligence quickly became one of the hottest topics in the industry, so I pursued a Master's in CS at UIUC to future-proof my career.
I'm now a Senior Software Engineer focusing on Test Automation at Spokeo, based in Los Angeles.
I like music, especially EDM (Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Future House, Techno). I also love video games — Portal and the Mass Effect trilogy are my favorites.

Projects
Open-source work, including tools I built for test automation at Spokeo
cypress-parallel-fast
Parallelize Cypress test cases within and across spec files using a dynamic task queue. Faster than file-level splitting because individual it() blocks are distributed across workers.
@camppp/cypress-to-playwright
Translates Cypress commands to Playwright equivalents at runtime, enabling gradual migration without rewriting test suites.
Erroneous Vector Assessment (EVA)
Weightlifting form correction app using computer vision and pose estimation. Pairs a phone camera with IMU for real-time feedback.
Video Style Transfer
Deep learning video style transfer built on top of StyTR-2, extending transformer-based image style transfer to the temporal domain.
MadBus: Real-Time Bus Tracker
Real-time bus tracker for the Madison, WI Metro Transit network. Originally built in PHP/JS in 2018 — recently ported to Next.js API routes and embedded into this site.
